Samaritans: Coping with Change
A short explainer animation aiming to help young people prepare for the transition into secondary school, college, university or work.
The Samaritans charity commissioned F&E to create this short character-based explainer animation, targeted at students in years 11+.
The animation aims to help young people prepare for the transition into secondary school, college, university or work. Especially in the current climate, this can be a time of excitement but also uncertainty. The narrative provides some ideas for how young people can support their emotional and mental health during this time. Directing them to further resources provided by Samaritans.
As with our previous animation created in collaboration with Samaritans, the visual style was created to complement their brand and existing assets. The film follows a character’s journey at this pivotal moment of change. Illustrating how important it is to look after your mental and emotional health.
In support of this animation, there is also a worksheet that can be used in schools. Prompting students to consider different techniques that might help them recognise feelings of uncertainty and develop coping strategies. Helping young people to positively confront these key issues when transitioning to a brand new stage of life.
